Careem, the multi-service app, has launched Careem DineOut, an in-app F&B discovery platform. This platform connects customers to exclusive fine dining and licensed restaurants in the city.
Through the ‘DineOut’ tile on the Careem app, customers can find F&B venues across Dubai, using filters that cater to location, budget, and cuisine preferences. They can also book a Careem ride to the restaurant and pay their dining bills.
Some of the establishments available on the app include Kempinski, Taj, Shangri-la, Palazzo Versace, Pizza Express, Folly, Belgian Beer Cafe, and Bombay Bungalow.
Jaskaran Singh, VP of product at Careem, said of the launch: “We launched DineOut to simplify dining experiences for our customers and save even more with Careem Plus. Our value proposition centers around convenience and value. Convenience because you can access over a dozen services using the same payment and identity details registered on the app.”
The addition of DineOut to the Careem platform was based on feedback from customers in Dubai, where over 70 percent dine out once or twice a week. According to the team, Careem identified the challenge of navigating a growing selection of F&B venues while seeking discounts.
Careem’s goal of becoming the premier app stems from its initial purpose of simplifying life in the region. Following its recent acquisition, it evolved into a super app that offers a range of services such as ride-hailing, food and grocery delivery, micro-mobility, financial services, and partner services like home cleaning, laundry, and car rentals.
“Partnership with Uber and the recent investment from global investment company and telco, e&, we now have two strong partners to help us bring even more convenience and value to our customers, captains, and merchants across the region,” added Singh.
